Specialty MGA Taps BMS’s Conway as Senior MedMal Underwriter

Specialty MGA, the London-headquartered managing general agent that is part of MNK Group, has appointed Nick Conway as senior underwriter for medical malpractice.

Nick Conway

Conway brings over 25 years of experience in underwriting and broking, having worked for a range of high-profile insurance providers including Marsh, Themis Group, and most recently BMS Global Healthcare. An accomplished underwriter and leader in the healthcare insurance arena, he is well positioned to deliver and grow Specialty MGA’s specialist healthcare insurance provision.

Based in the London office, Conway will evaluate and manage risk for policies across the global medical portfolio, including hospitals and clinics, medical practitioners, non-surgical, and allied health.

“Nick brings with him extensive underwriting experience, complemented by his years spent in broking, meaning he has a significant network to draw upon in providing innovative and tailored solutions for our clients,” commented Manoj Kumar, chairman of MNK Group, in a statement.

“The healthcare insurance market is developing, with portfolio opportunities for private hospitals and clinics written in the open market, and bringing Nick onboard means the business is well placed to grow in this area,” Kumar added.

MNK Group brings together a Lloyd’s Broker (MNK International, formerly MNK Re), providing insurance solutions to customers in over 130 countries, and a network of MGAs (Specialty MGA in the UK, Italy, US, and Middle East). Additionally, reinsurance companies Mekong Re, Florida Re, and MNK Seguros are part of the group.

With global offices in the UK, Italy, the US and Morocco, Specialty MGA focuses on lines of business that include but are not limited to property, construction, energy, marine, construction, aviation, financial lines, accident & health and surety.
