OSHA Releases List of Top 10 Cited Hazards in 2024

Following inspections of worksites where injuries were reported, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has compiled a preliminary list of the top 10 most commonly cited workplace hazards for fiscal year 2024 (Oct. 1, 2023, to Sept. 30, 2024).

They are:

  1. Fall Protection,
  2. Hazard Communication
  3. Ladders, construction
  4. Respiratory Protection, general industry
  5. Control of Hazardous Energy (lockout/tagout)
  6. Powered Industrial Trucks, general industry
  7. Fall Protection Training, construction
  8. Scaffolding, construction
  9. Eye and Face Protection, construction
  10. Machine Guarding, general industry

The list provides insight into the preventable injuries, illnesses, and deaths related to these workplace hazards.
